Well, after a bit of a blogging break (I’ve not published anything since November’s Me and Mine!), I’m back! I don’t want to stop blogging, I love documenting the story of our lives, but it has really made me appreciate how much time it was taking up and how the world won’t stop if I don’t post regularly.
I don’t do New Year’s resolutions, but I do want to start blogging more regularly again. There are exciting times on the horizon for 2016 and I want to record all the ups and downs as well as the everyday moments.
But anyway, back to December. We’ve had a really wonderful Christmas. Although he’s too young to really understand, it’s been amazing to see little T’s first experience of the magic of Christmas (last year he was terrified of presents). He’s been completely in awe of the lights and decorations, every trip into town recently has been punctuated with loud ‘wow!’s. He loves Christmas trees (cwee ca twee) and Father Christmas (oh oh oh).
Our house looks like Toys R Us has vomited all over it- we are thinking of buying a bigger house just to put his toys in. His reaction when he opened his presents was worth it though. When he saw something exciting like a tractor or a train he would get so excited (literally shaking with excitement at times) and try to rip it out the packet. Clothes, on the other hand, were immediately discarded. He insisted on opening our presents too, although they were met with a similar reaction to clothes.
We spent a lot of time with both of our families too. It was a little overwhelming for little T, especially when there were 16 of us at my parents’ house on one of the days. It was really lovely to see everyone, all my brothers were home for Christmas and we got to see our baby nephew too.
Our end of year family portrait couldn’t be anywhere other than next to the ‘cwee ca twee.’ At least we managed to keep his favourite new toy bin lorry out of it.
Happy New Year to you all!
